TSA Luggage Lock - SearchAlert Brand - for cases is specifically designed for air travel with Firearm cases or equipment cases requiring a thick 1/4" shackle. Like other SearchAlert luggage locks, the TSA Case Lock lets you know that your case or other luggage was opened while at the airport, whether by TSA agents or other unauthorized personnel. Each TSA lock includes a security window that changes from green to red when the lock has been opened. Set the window back to green using your own personal combination.

Could never use locks setiing on shelve if you mess up one number and forget you lost which i did all my locks were screw up. You need to have a central combination at your office to reset locks otherwise they are useless.

Used this lock on an equipment case to avoid TSA cutting regular locks. I bought it after a long search for a TSA lock with a thick shackle. Took first trip by air without incident..locks worked fine. On a recent second trip the TSA opened the locks as indicated by the red showing. Reset the locks and checked them both for operation before relocking the case. The next morning one would not open and had to be cut with boltcutters. Same happened with second lock when I returned home and had to cut that one open. Even with the lifetime warranty, I would not trust these locks again.

BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Two locks arrived. Only one is functioning properly. When I called I expected them to ship another out to me that day. Not the case. I need to return the defective lock - AT MY EXPENSE - and then they will send another. Well I guess if I returned both of them I would still have to pick up the postage. Don't know why I expected better service. I think it is quickly becoming a thing of the past.
